Chava Alberstein is doing several concerts these days. The famous Israeli folksinger is going to appear at Kaufmann Hall in New York City in about two weeks to sing some of her most popular songs. She has been making music telling the story of the Israeli people for many years now and always impresses her audiences with the deep sound of her voice. She was born in 1947 in Poland and her family moved to Israel when she was just 4 years old. After spending time in the Israeli Defence Force, which every one does, then began making music, producing several dozen albums since then. If you like mideastern folk music or anything like that, I would recommend going to see her on November 12.

One year ago, on October 30, 2007, the Eagles released their first album since 1978, called Long Road Out of Eden. The album consisted of some new songs and some songs that they had performed in the 70s, but didn’t record, because the writer, J. D. Souther, wanted to release it on his own solo album. The album was available at first only on the group’s website and at Sam’s Club and Walmart stores. Now, it’s also available through other retailers. One band member says that this is probably the last Eagles album that they will make together. The band has also put together a tour to promote this new album. They launched it in March 2008 and continue to perform into 2009. The tour started in London, but will go on to cities in many other countries, including the US and Canada. The group has also won a Grammy Award this year for the song “How Long” on the new album.

Look at these guys in their posed “rockstar” stances. What is that, a machine gun drum stick? Is that an attempt at a Pete Townshend stance, oh wait, no he’s holding the guitar up to “balance” to the picture. And that’s not how you hold a guitar! Oh I forgot, Fall Out Boy wouldnt know how to do anything (from write music to hold instruments) on their own, my bad. Excuse me, make-up? Hey make-up we need more eyeliner on Pete Wentz!
Yeah, they are pretty big d-bags but for some reason America loves ‘em. It’s just annoying when a crappy pop-punk bands ego gets so huge that you can see it manifest in a promotional picture.

Besides going to a GWAR or Misfits show, seeing Alice Cooper round Halloween is a perfect way to celebrate. As one of firsts to bring horror imagery to the stage, an Alice Cooper show brings rock and roll to its knees with blood, gore, and other shock rock antics that will have you biting the head of a chicken off in a frenzy…An Alice Cooper show also promises a delightful execution of their lead singer- it’s become a classic tradition. With a new album out, the band is back on tour. For more information about Alice Cooper click here.
