Rihanna has recently started a mini-tour to raise funds for the charity for under privileged children. She created the Believe Foundation in 2006 to give medical attention and school supplies to underprivileged children. Rihanna will stage some special concert shows to create awareness about charity and to give the sick kids an opportunity to have some fun in their lives. The tour is named “A Girl’s Night out” started on March 26th night at the Illinois Vision Club in Chicago.

Rihanna said that when she was a small girl she was moved by the sight of children suffering shown through television and wanted to do something to help the less fortunate children. She started visiting the children’s hospitals when she was in a position to help them. She added that she wanted to make them happy always and children can come to her concerts or can have gifts or toys from her during Christmas. She has done a show on March 28th at San Francisco and another show is scheduled for April 9th at High Line ballroom in New York.

The popular Maroon 5 has joined hands with Counting Crows for a far-reaching summer-fall concert tour that starts on July 25th at Virginia Beach and goes up to 4th of October in West Palm Beach, Florida. Sara Bareilles has given the nod to support the concert tour from the July 25th show through till the August 26th concert in Cuyahoga Falls in Ohio. Augustana, the Epic labelmate, will support the troupe for the rest of the show dates.

The tickets for the fantastic concerts go on sale from April 4th and the bands have joined hands with environmental friendly group, Reverb, to make the entire tour green by planning to use bio diesel trucks, pooling people in groups for the concert as well as carbon offsets. Maroon 5 will be going on this concert tour across America to support their 2007 album “It Won’t Be Soon before Long”. The Counting Crows will be on tour in promotion of their latest album “Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings”.

Lindsay Lohan said that she has decided to spend the Easter weekend with her sick grandfather. The Mean Girls star, Lindsay Lohan, has flown to her native hometown of Long Island in New York with her friend, DJ Samantha Ronson on the 19th of this month. Lindsay also will get sometime off the recent sex tape allegation with her former boyfriend, Calum Best, the son of the famous soccer player, George Best.

Lohan’s grandfather Richard Lohan is currently in the intensive car unit at the North Shore University Hospital in New York suffering from colon cancer. Lindsay has decided to cancel all her prior commitments over the Easter weekend in order to spend some time with her family. Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, said that he is happy that his elder daughter is trying her best to come down to her hometown to spend some valuable time with her sick grandfather as he is in need of the entire family’s company at the moment.

Thom Yorke, the frontman of the popular band group, Radiohead, has come out openly denying reports that the group had withdrawn from taking part at Glastonbury citing environmental problems and said that his comments were misquoted by some press people. Thom Yorke has addressed this controversial issue in his blog site where he writes that the band had ruled out playing at the Glastonbury concert due to the fact that the festival going Glastonbury public were not interested in their show and hence they had to shift their venue to London, where they will be able to perform in front of a packed audience.

The frontman of the band Radiohead said that it was too early for them to do a show in Glastonbury as they had only recently performed there and said that the Radiohead will only be performing in areas that provide better public transportation facilities for their fans. He says that Glastonbury is ruled out of their calendar presently and maybe the band will rethink performing there in the near future. Yorke also revealed that he had spoken to the Glastonbury show organizer Michael Eavis and his daughter Emily and has also tendered an apology to them for any misunderstanding.

Duran Duran, the music icon of the Eighties, rolls out a tour to North America as a part of the world tour to support their latest release, Red Carpet Massacre. The tour of the band will start from Vector Arena in Auckland in New Zealand on March 26th and will visit four festivals in Australia, which includes performances at Centennial Park at Sydney on March 29th, Avica Resort in gold coast on March 30th, Melbourne showground on April 5th and at the Esplanade in Perth on April 6th. The band will also stop at Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Costa Rica and South Korea.

This will be Duran Duran’s second time visit to U.S to promote Red Carpet massacre. The band had the debut performance of this album at the Ethel Barrymore theatre in New York City in November 2007. The show was sold out for two weeks and the band performed the album in entirety. The present show will be a mixture of promotion of new album along with hit performances of the band and will feature a new instrumental electronic set. The North American tour will end with two performances at the Central Park in New York on May 30-31.

In the Campaign called “I am a Vegetarian”, McCartney is featured wearing a T-shirt with the inscription “Eat No…” along with the picture of a cow. To create awareness of animal-rights he has quoted in the ad on how he became a vegetarian. He is explaining the fact that the life of even a fish is important to it, dawned on him, some years ago, while fishing. Moreover, he urges the viewers to stop eating meat to save the planet, as vegetarianism helps to save ecological balance and prevents famine.

Heather Mills, the estranged wife of Paul McCartney has also turned vegetarian last year. She decided to shift to vegetarianism after coming to know about the cruel farming methods and it’s after effects on the environment. She is proud to be a vegetarian which saves the lives of animals. The American Pop band Maroon 5 was scheduled to do a performance in vector Arena in Auckland on April 6th. The promoters of the show, the Frontier Touring Company, announced the cancellation of the program two days back. The show got cancelled because of a conflict in the tour dates. The show at Auckland clashed with another charity show by Maroon 5. The band apologized to its fans about the unavoidable cancellation and has assured to visit New Zealand at the earliest opportunity available. The ticket rates of the cancelled show will be refunded at the venue of purchase.
